“Stay low, stay quiet, keep it simple, don't expect too much, enjoy what you have.”
― Dean Koontz
Most people would rather live a simple and tough life than a complicated and easy life. As I recall my favorite memories, I remember a time where my family, friends, and I all went on a camping trip to the White Mountains. Looking back I realized that if everything was much more simple than it is not, no internet, no tablet, no electronics, everything would be a lot more fun.
I stepped off of my car after a good two hours of driving into the maze of tree and water. With the sun shining onto my face I reached into my bag, grabbing for my sunscreen as I did not risk getting having a sunburn while on this vacation. After I finished rubbing my skin with the sunscreen I head towards the campsite to help put up the tents. I started running down the hill which lead to the treeless circle which had another circle of rocks which was where we made our campfire. Running down this hill was.... One of the many mistakes I've made. When I had reached the middle of the hill, my foot suddenly got stuck in a room and next thing I noticed, I was stumbling.
After I had recovered from my fall and every was done setting up their tents we all decided to start a fire the old fashion way. Gather all the wood we can find, my dad's friend started to spin a piece of wood on top of the others. Although I do not know how this works, it did. Once we got the fire going, everyone got a chair and sat around the body of heat. I sat there, staring into the majestic flame that covered my body with warmth. Simple, I thought, everything was simple. No electronics, no internet, just me and this fire.
